There's no disputing this is a solid table. So far, it has been sturdy and seems to be made of good materials. I am not sure what I expected the resin top to look like, but it looks a like wood. It also looks sharp out on our deck. Luckily, assembly is fairly simple, as the included instructions are vague and calling the manufacturer with a question makes you want to bang your head against something. I don't think anyone actually works there.
Note that the table is heavy. Really heavy. The UPS man who delivered it was surprised it was being sent via UPS and not another delivery service. It was very challenging for me to get upstairs, but I kept it in the packaging to keep it safe. When I was opening it, I realized that it had been opened before as it had been retaped closed with layers of thin plastic tape over the heavier original tape outside the box and inside where the table legs were inside their own boxes. Indeed, there was so much tape it was hard to open the packing without cutting the cardboard apart in non-taped areas. Another clue -- rather than being in several pieces to assemble, the table legs were completely put together inside their boxes.
The table top was packed in a lot of material and I took great care to make sure I didn't damage it during assembly. Of course, when I got the table on the deck I realized that it had already been scratched on top and had small dents on the side. I suspect that is why someone else sent it back. At that point, it had been such a trial I couldn't consider repacking it, hauling it back downstairs by myself and returning it.

This begins amended text to my review. I originally gave the table 1 star because I was disappointed in the quality control and inability to reach the manufacturer for recourse. Another reader responded and thought I was being harsh. Perhaps. We have been using the table and it has been okay. Very sturdy. Although the material is resin, some contact with Skin-So-Soft lotion on a guest's arm created a stain that won't clean away. That surprised me. I have raised my rating to 3 stars.
