I've used a Polar HRM for over a year. When I added on a Nike+, I didn't really consider spending the money to get the compatible chest strap. However, my old chest strap stopped working reliably even after a battery change. I decided to just go ahead and get this one, and it's worked out just great! It works with my existing Polar HRM and my Nike+ transmitter which is plugged into my Nano. No complaints!
