The Porta-Booth Pro

Product Description

The Porta Booth Pro Your Recording Studio At Home , Zoom A21u Acoustic Guitar Effects Pedal , Deals Boss Gt 10 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal, Line 6 Spider Iv 150 150 Watt 2x12 Modeling Guitar Amplifier Pric, Hartke Kickback 12 Bass Guitar 1x12 Combo Amplifier , After years of trying to get good audio in acoustically untreated spaces and trying all the tricks - building pillow forts, hanging blankets on the wall, huddling in mid-summer under a thick comforter reading copy by a keychain flashlight - I decided I had to come up with some kind of easily transportable sound booth for on the road recording. The original Porta-Booth? was the result. Since then I've gotten lots of requests for a bigger, more robust booth that could be used as a permanent and portable recording solution - accommodating larger and longer microphones and lengthy scripts. After hours of conversations with audio pros and over a year of prototyping - testing more than a dozen designs - I'm very proud to introduce the purpose-built: Porta-Booth Pro? a professional quality sound studio with the audio quality you'd expect from a human-sized sound booth at a fraction of the size and cost because you don't need to be inside a sound booth - your microphone does! Now improved! New! Larger LED that uses easily replaceable AAA batteries New! Larger 'articulated' clip to securely hold your script New! 'Anti-sway' strap for those who mount their Pro's on a boom-arm mic stand. New! A thicker bottom for more stability and re-spec'd side walls so the audio is even smoother and keeps even more ambiant noise out!

This review is from: The Porta-Booth Pro - Your Recording Studio At Home and on the Road
The Porta-Booth Pro is well designed, well made and very effective at cutting unwanted sound reflection and typical room noise (from your computer for instance). My only caution is that if you use a large microphone like the U87 it will be a very tight fit. Your mic needs to be placed from 1/3 to 1/2 way back into the Porta-Booth (1/3 works best for me) and the "auditorium design" (wide opening at the front and quite narrow at the back) makes a large condenser mic almost impossible to situate properly. Either the new TLM 102 or the excellent TLM 103 (no, I don't work for Neumann!) would be a perfect fit. Good luck!
