I am glad that I read the reviews before purchasing my Electrolux because there is a slight delay when first starting. I love this machine! I bought a cheap vacuum about 3 months ago from Walmart and it didn't pick up much. I am always cleaning my house and didn't think it would be that bad. I had to empty the Electrolux canister 3 times! I use to wake up stuffy in the morning and knew something was wrong, but not anymore! I can't believe I was breathing in all that dirt. Also I love the light. I can get under the beds and see where I'm at. You would not be sorry with this purchase. WONDERFUL
