This review is from: DuroStar SD1300 Snow Demon 16-Inch 9.7 Amp Electric Snow Thrower (Lawn & Patio)
We received about 5 inches of snow yesterday, so I decided to give my brand new Snow Demon a shot at cleaning it. My first disappointment was the fact that most of the Snow Demon is plastic including the wheels. I am 6 ft 2 in, and found this snow blower quite awkward to use, because the handle is too short, and my back started to hurt after using it for a short while, due to being bent over.
The biggest surprise of all was, one of the dam wheels fell off the snow blower. So there i was now trying to balance the blower on one wheel while trying to complete the job. This of course added more pressure to my already aching back, and forced me to stop without being able to complete the job of clearing my driveway. I will now have to disassemble the wheel and investigate the cause of the wheel falling off (bad design, or inadequate retaining feature?). The wheel originally came already installed on the blower.
Other points: The Switch will occasionally trip off on you and you must go through the process of re starting the unit. Also, the discharge chute will not stay in position when you set it at 90 degrees.
