This review is from: Acer Aspire One AOA150-1049 8.9-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Black (Personal Computers)
I received my new Acer Aspire One Onyx Black from Amazon/ANTOnline today. This thing is sweeeet. Slim, compact, fits easily in my backpack (smaller than average textbook). Boots up quickly, windows XP runs smoothly. Installed Office 2007 without any issues. WiFi connected to my network quickly, recognized my network printers and drives without any issues. 6 cell battery sticks out a little at the back but matches well with the body. The display rests on the extention of the 6 cell battery and prevents it to fall back. Keyboard and the touchpad is going to require a little getting used to. Excellent value for the price. Well done acer for raising the Bar of netbooks for others not only in quality but also on the price. Other netbooks in the market range from $500 (asus) to $1800 (apple, HP). Most of the software installed are trial versions. I uninstalled almost everything, including google desktop and toolbar. Mcafee comes free for a while but removed that too and installed Norton instead. This is a great little machine for the price. Highly recommend if you are looking for portability at a cheaper price.
